Why ID is not Creation's Trojan Horse

Creation Design is the theme I have chosen for 2009 to represent my ministry. There is a growing trend among Christians to accept false assumptions concerning the beginnings of life. To counteract this growing trend there has been a noble movement started called Intelligent Design, or ID, in the early 1990’s. One must not confuse biblical creationism with intelligent design.

While adequately showing the flaws of Darwinian Evolution, ID does not emphasize biblical creation and in some respects oppose it such as ignoring the Genesis flood. This belief system is just one step removed from theistic evolution which suggests that God used Darwinian Evolution and the Big Bang for life to arrive as we know it now.

What is Creation Design?
I coined the term Creation Design to show the biblical emphasis of a special ordered creation of organic and inorganic matter. Some religious leaders in recent years have suggested that an ordered creation is not meant to be interpreted in Genesis one. This line of reasoning is based on scientific presuppositions of the past and not on the original understanding of early Jews and Christians. Would God intentionally mislead multitudes of devoted Jews and Christians from thousands of years concerning the message of an ordered creation? How absurd!

Because ID is not based on the Bible, parents should be careful not to put their faith totaly in ID for answers. For this reason ID is certainly not biblical creationism in disguise.

The code words "intelligent design" were invented after the Supreme Court ruled in 1987 that "creation science" is not science and can't be taught in a public school because of the Establishment Clause. In 2005 a federal judge said the exact same thing about intelligent design.

Intelligent design is just supernatural magic dishonestly disguised to look scientific.

Your belief in biblical creationism, also known as magical creation, disgraces your religion. You are living proof that religions belong in the Dark Ages, not the 21st century.

At least you don't dishonestly try to disguise your magical creation myth to look scientific.

Wow -- do you usually get more negative comments on your blog than postive? That must be discouraging.

Have you heard of this? It's called the Creation Letter Project. All you have to do is scroll to the end of the post and type your name and city/country in the comment field. Hopefully we can make it a difference.
